American Heartland Ice Arena

The program is open to adults 18+ who have never played hockey. It will combine on-ice skills sessions with instructional games. During this program, participants will learn the fundamental skills of ice hockey, including how to skate if they've never done so before. In addition, they will get a chance to play the greatest game on Earth.

  • Class 1: Stepping onto the ice, falling down and getting back up, skating stride
  • Class 2: Skating stride, introducing pucks, carrying the puck, passing
  • Class 3: Skating edge work and turning, Shooting
  • Class 4:  Backward skating, puck skills
  • Class 5:  Skating, passing, shooting progressions
  • Class 6: Skating, passing, shooting in action
  • Class 7:  Gameplay and teamwork 
  • Class 8:  Cup Game - your first ever hockey game National Anthem, referees, and scoring.  Bring family and friends to see what you learned.

No experience is necessary, just the willingness to try something new, and the desire to learn.


Pricing varies by program. We offer everything from free learn-to-play sessions to multi-session Get In The Game Programming from $119 - $175.

American Heartland Ice Arena sessions start at $175

Typically our skaters range from 18-50 but we also allow teenagers if they don't want to join our regular Learn-to-Play program! 

No ice skating or hockey experience is required in order to participate.

Of course, we encourage it! 

In the final week, participants graduate to play in their first organized hockey game.
